Data sources
Land Drop puts together the data of eight public sources: tournament results, Limited win rates, combos, prices and card data. Thanks to all of them.
- Tournament results: the official decklists published by Magic: The Gathering Online on mtgo.com (leagues and challenges), imported every morning. Upcoming events come from the official MTGO event calendar.
- Paper tournaments: data provided by TopDeck.gg, standings, decklists and top 8 brackets through its official API, imported every morning. Only events with at least 16 players and most decklists published are counted.
- Official Wizards of the Coast events: the decklists published on magic.gg (Arena Championship, Pro Tour, World Championship, Regional Championships and Magic Series), with the final standings when they are published, imported every morning. The weekly MTG Arena ranked decklists count in the metagame but not in the player ranking, because they have no player names.
- Paupergeddon, the largest paper Pauper tournament in Europe: every decklist of the main event and of the side events, published by the organizer on paupergeddon.com, with names and standings for the top 64 (top 16 in the side events). The other decklists are published without names: they count in the metagame but not in the player ranking.
- A player's MTGO account and their TopDeck.gg name are shown as one player only when the player asks us to, and the same goes for magic.gg names. Players who delete their TopDeck.gg account are shown as Deleted User at the next update, and their name is removed from the site.
- Limited: the win rates of each card in MTG Arena Premier Draft and Sealed, computed from the public datasets of 17Lands (CC BY 4.0, games played by 17Lands users), checked every Tuesday. GIH WR is the win rate of the games in which the card was in the opening hand or drawn; IWD is how much higher it is than in the games where the card stayed in the library. Only cards seen in at least 500 games are shown.
- Combos: the open-source database of Commander Spellbook, updated every week. A deck page lists the combos with every card in the decklist, leaving out those that need generic pieces such as a sacrifice outlet; steps and details are on Commander Spellbook.
- MTGO prices in TIX: the daily price file of GoatBots, used with their permission.
- Card data and images: Scryfall. Images are shown from the Scryfall servers, never copied. The official Oracle text is linked on Gatherer (Wizards of the Coast).
